TIJERAS, New Mexico (PNN) - July 10, 2017 - While there’s something disconcerting about having Big Brother listening in on family feuds, there is something to be said about smart devices alerting the terrorist pig thug cops when simple arguments turn into domestic disputes. The latter is what occurred at a home in New Mexico earlier this week, and authorities believe it may have played a life-saving role.

GENEVA, Switzerland (PNN) - July 7, 2017 - The Large Hadron Collider has once again done what it does best - smash bits of matter together and find new particles in the carnage.

This time physicists have come across a real charmer. It's four times heavier than a proton and could help challenge some ideas about how this kind of matter sticks together.

Superbug apocalypse rapidly approaching.

WASHINGTON (PNN) - June 1, 2017 - Nearly one-quarter of adults prescribed antibiotics as a first line treatment for community-acquired pneumonia were non-responsive to the medications, a new study has revealed. Current guidelines for community-acquired pneumonia, published by the American Thoracic Society and the Infectious Disease Society of America in 2007, offer insight on the disease. However, researchers noted that large-scale, real-world data were needed to gain greater knowledge of antibiotic choices and to better evaluate risk factors that may stem from treatment failure.

FPSA scientists have developed a memory wipe enzyme that can erase memories forever

ARLINGTON, Virginia (PNN) - June 5, 2017 - Are there any bad memories in your life that you wish you could simply erase? Researchers might have found a way to do exactly that thanks to the discovery of the enzyme in the brain that plays a pivotal role in storing long-term memories. They believe that this enzyme could be targeted in order to essentially wipe distressing memories out of the minds of people suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). However, like many things that sound too good to be true, this development is raising red flags.
