Tillis was one of the original four Republicans who have blocked this bill for 18 months. Now he is the one declaring it dead and naming the Majority Leader as the cause.
The Save America Act is now federal law. After eighteen months of Senate procedural battles, six failed floor votes, a spending offset dispute, and a contested ruling by Vice President J.D. Vance from the presiding chair, President Donald J. Trump signed the legislation into law. Within hours, a coalition of state attorneys general filed an emergency legal challenge in federal court. The legislative fight is over. The legal fight has started.
