School punishes courageous teen for trying to stop bullying

LAKE COUNTY, Florida (PNN) - June 10, 2012 - A Umatilla High School senior says she was punished for standing up to students on a school bus who were bullying a mentally challenged teen.

"Just because she doesn't understand doesn't mean that should be happening to her," said senior Stormy Rich.

June 9, 2012 - On the evening of June 4, 2012, I checked into my hotel in Sacramento, Kalifornia. After doing the usual fussing around with luggage, I turned on the computer to check email. One of the first I saw was: Tommy Cryer, R.I.P.

I guess you could say I was literally struck dumb. I kept looking at the screen, but couldn't process what I was reading. I was that shocked. I finally opened the email; read it several times. Just stared at the screen.

NEW YORK (PNN) - May 6, 2012 - Fifty drivers of speed camera vans in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, went on strike Saturday against the private company that runs the automated ticketing program, according to Dar Al Hayat.

Redflex Traffic Systems has had the contract to issue tickets in Riyadh since 2002, but the locals believe the Australian firm has been forcing them to work under dangerous conditions for minimal wages.
