The House of Representatives voted almost unanimously – with one opposing vote – to provide subpoena power to the investigation into the oil gusher in the Gulf of Mexico. However, the Senate blocked proceeding with the bill by a single objection, which under Senate rules means the bill is effectively dead. Now that’s representative government at its finest… NOT!
