TEHERAN, Iran - July 27, 2010 - Iran expects the United States to launch a military strike on "at least two countries" in the Middle East in the next three months, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told state-run Press TV.

In an interview recorded on Monday, Ahmadinejad did not specify whether he thought Iran itself would be attacked nor did he say what intelligence led him to expect such a move.

It was December 2009, days after a suspected al-Qaida member supposedly tried to ignite an explosive device aboard a Detroit-bound flight. Flynn had just returned home to Vancouver from a trip to Seattle, and was on her way to Palma de Mallorca, Spain, to start a new job as a public relations officer.

July 10, 2010 - Journalists are being fired for saying what they think while politicians are getting away without being questioned.

Freedom of speech may be part of the United States Constitution but perhaps the First Amendment that enshrines it could do with a caveat or two being added.

Congress may make no law "abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press", the Bill of Rights lays down. That still holds true but increasingly, speaking freely can get you fired or tarred for life.

The article, which has only been published in Hebrew and was buried on page 8 as a small news item, stated that 550 officers and soldiers who participated in Israel’s assault on the Gaza Strip in late 2008 and early 2009 have been investigated by IDF military police for possible war crimes. Among them is the former commander of the Givati Brigade, Ilan Malka, who was interrogated for an air strike that resulted in the killing of 21 members of one family in Gaza City.

The former employees now are facing possible felony charges.

"This is deeply troubling," Bureau Director Robert Groves told members of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee during a field hearing in downtown Brooklyn attended by several members of the New York congressional delegation. "I find it abhorrent to all of the principles underlying the work of the Census Bureau."
