OAKLAND, Kalifornia (PNN) - October 27, 2011 - Oakland Mayor Jean Quan released a statement late last night saying she now supports the Occupy Oakland protesters and will minimize police presence for the time being. The statement comes less than 48 hours after local pig cops assaulted and battered unarmed protesters with rubber bullets, stun grenades, sound cannon, and tear gas.

NEW YORK (PNN) - October 2, 2011 - In a tense showdown above the East River, the police arrested more than 700 demonstrators from the Occupy Wall Street protests who took to the roadway as they tried to cross the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

The police said it was the marchers’ choice that led to the enforcement action.

WASHINGTON (PNN) - September 28, 2011 - Those who use marijuana legally in accordance with their respective state's laws cannot be sold or possess firearms, according to a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) memo issued on September 21.

The memo to federally licensed gun dealers in the United States, obtained by the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, stated that it was illegal under federal law to sell firearms to anyone reasonably suspected of using a controlled substance.

Thousands of angry people took over the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City, with a determination reminiscent of the war protests of the 1960s. Chants of “We are watching!” and “We want real change!” could be heard amidst the crowds, along with cries of “Let them go!” - a reference to those innocent Amerikans who have already been arrested by New York’s thug cops, who displayed typical fascist behavior by suppressing media coverage of the protests.

Judge rules part of USA PATRIOT Act unconstitutional

PORTLAND, Oregon - September 29, 2011 - On Wednesday, a federal judge ruled that two provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act are unconstitutional because they allow search warrants to be issued without a showing of probable cause.

U.S. District Judge Ann Aiken ruled that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, as amended by the USA PATRIOT Act, "now permits the executive branch of government to conduct surveillance and searches of Amerikan citizens without satisfying the probable cause requirements of the Fourth Amendment."
