LONDON, England (PNN) - May 20, 2014 - In 1934, scientists Gregory Breit and John Wheeler theorized that turning light into matter was as simple as crashing two photons of light into each other to create an electron and a positron. This calculation was analyzed over and over, but no one expected to prove it, at least in a lab. Even Breit and Wheeler thought it impossible. Scientists at Imperial College London now believe it’s possible to turn actual light into matter results with a new kind of collider.

Skinny wormholes could allow us to communicate across time
CAMBRIDGE, England (PNN) - May 20, 2014 - Wormholes, those notoriously unstable warps in space and time, could theoretically be kept stable long enough for a beam of light to be sent through them. Exiting at the far end, these beams of light could find themselves anywhere in the universe, and theoretically, at any time as well. If the beam of light were used to carry a message, humanity could actually find itself with the capability of communicating across the ages.

Turnout reported off the charts.
LUGANSK, Ukraine (PNN) - May 11, 2014 - The most significant geopolitical event of the day is the east Ukraine independence referendum taking place in various cities across the region, less than two months after the Crimean case study which saw the region split away from Ukraine and join Russia despite the fervent warnings by Kiev and the West that the result of the election would not be accepted by anyone. As it turned out then, it only needed to be accepted by Russia, which promptly took over the Black Sea territory.
