Commentary: Can a Pope change moral truth?

May 23, 2018 - That joking retort we heard as children, “Is the pope Catholic?” is starting to look like a serious question.

Asked five years ago about a “(homosexual) lobby” in the Vatican, Pope Francis responded, “If a person is (homosexual) and seeks God and has good will, who am I to judge?”

As judgment was thought to be part of the papal job description, traditional Catholics were startled at what the new pope had volunteered.

Now the Holy Father has apparently fleshed out what he meant.

May 21, 2018 - In the wake of recent tragic school shootings, anxious parents are contemplating homeschooling to protect their children. After February’s school shooting in Parkland, Florida, the Miami Herald reported that more parents were considering the homeschooling option; and after Friday’s disturbing school shooting in Sante Fe, Texas, a local ABC news affiliate in Alabama reported the increasing appeal of homeschooling.

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (PNN) - May 21, 2018 - While everyone else was waiting for the government to restore power to Puerto Rico, Oscar Carrion and his friends went in together to buy a bucket truck and taught themselves how to repair wiring.

Thousands of people in Puerto Rico remain in the dark eight months after Hurricane Maria wiped out the island’s already degraded electrical grid. The infrastructure was in such bad condition, some people predicted it could take a year or more to restore the electricity.

May 14, 2018 - Modern governments and industries work in collusion to control the individual. But ironically, they were only able to grow powerful by exploiting the desire to be an individual.

Many kingdoms and empires were in truth little more than large protection rackets. The king was the capo di tutti capi who collected protection money, and in return made sure that neighboring crime syndicates and local small fry did not harm those under his protection. He did little else.

AUSTIN, Texas (PNN) - May 1, 2018 - It takes at least four years of college for an enlisted person in the military to become a military officer, which is quite a contrast from the mere nine months it takes for a terrorist pig thug cop to earn the title. But according to a group of 10 former Austin terrorist pig thug cop department recruits who wanted to become peace officers, just like the military, the Austin PD is training “warriors” instead of “guardians.”
