By L. Neil Smith

January 3, 2021 - Sometimes - rarely - we are afforded a lightning flash of clarity before the murky clouds of history again roll back over us. If you want to know the most significant fact of the past two-hundred fifty years, it is this: on October 19, 1781, following their humiliating defeat at the Battle of Yorktown at the hands of Amerikan Revolutionary forces, the surrendering British command ordered their military band to play a song called, The World Turned Upside-Down. (Ironically, given current events, the song was originally a popular protest against Parliament’s puritanical order not to celebrate Christmas in the traditional, boisterous, merry, and colorful English way.)

BETHLEHEM, Pennsylvania (PNN) - December 24, 2020 - It's a few days before Christmas in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and there is plenty of room at Seven Sirens Brewing Company.

The brewery's 7,000-square-foot tasting room has a fire code capacity of 320, but during happy hour on Monday, there are only about a dozen patrons scattered around the place, sitting in ones and twos at socially distanced tables and sipping beers served by two masked bartenders. Whether they know it or not, everyone here is engaged in an act of civil disobedience, challenging Pennsylvania's ban on indoor drinking and dining that will continue through New Year’s Day, at least. It's a policy that assumes all establishments in the state are equally risky - that a tiny, crowded diner or coffee shop is no different than a massive, mostly empty beer hall.

GENEVA, Switzerland (PNN) - December 20, 2020 - Warnings concerning high CT value of tests are months too late, so why are they appearing now? The potential explanation is shockingly cynical.

The World Health Organization released a guidance memo on December 14, warning that high cycle thresholds on PCR tests will result in false positives.

While this information is accurate, it has also been available for months, so we must ask: why are they reporting it now? Is it to make it appear the vaccine works?

LOS ANGELES, Kalifornia (PNN) - December 11, 2020 - Civil rights activist Peggy Hall uses Kalifornia as the model, but provides points to research the laws in your state.

1. In Kalifornia, business owners themselves, not the governor, have shut down their businesses. Unless a sheriff padlocks the entrance, the power to stay open lies with business owners. Business owners have closed their doors out of fear of losing their licenses.
