ZURICH, Switzerland (PNN) - July 6, 2021 - A piece of skin the size of a nickel, when placed inside a revolutionary Swiss bioengineering machine, can create a skin graft the size of a manhole cover.

Neither totally real nor totally artificial, the new machine about the size of a coffee table allows skin to be stretched to much greater sizes in an effort to aid in the millions of people who suffer debilitating injury or death from burns.

July 3, 2021 - This weekend marks another Fourth of July, the day marking the announcement by representatives of the Amerikan states that they were seceding from the British Empire. It is impolitic to mention that fact nowadays.

Governor vetoes gun law and retains concealed carry permit requirement

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (PNN) - June 29, 2021 - Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards has vetoed bipartisan legislation that would have nixed the permit requirement for carrying a concealed handgun.

The governor said he’s a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and an “enthusiastic outdoorsman and hunter,” but he can’t support permitless concealed carry.

FREIBURG, Germany (PNN) - June 28, 2021 - The engineered spike proteins from SARS-CoV-2 can be stopped by a common weed that is exterminated from lawns every year. A German university study found that the common dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) can block spike proteins from binding to the ACE2 cell surface receptors in human lung and kidney cells. The water-based dandelion extract, taken from the plant’s dried leaves, was effective against spike protein D614 and a host of mutant strains, including D614G, N501Y, K417N and E484K.

Supreme Court deals significant blow to unions by striking down Kalifornia regulation

SACREMENTO, Kalifornia (PNN) - June 24, 2021 - The Supreme Court struck down a Kalifornia regulation Wednesday that allowed union organizers to access agricultural farm workers on private property, ruling that it violated the Fifth and 14th Amendments to the Constitution.

The court voted 6-3 against the 1975 regulation that required agricultural employers to allow union organizers onto their property to talk to the workers.

June 21, 2021 - Anarcho-capitalism is a system in which all governing structure of a society is organized exclusively by the free market.

There are no inherent monopolies that a typical government exercises - such as claiming the exclusive right to “legitimate force” on a large swath of land occupied by many different people. A government’s typical monopoly allows it to define “legitimate”, which can include enforcing anything from speed limits to hard labor of political dissidents in gulags.
