Stray ammunition hit Holy Family Church killing three.
GAZA (PNN) - July 17, 2025 - Israel said it “deeply regrets” attacking and destroying Gaza’s only remaining Catholic Church.
Three people were reportedly killed in the strike by a stray ammunition that hit the Holy Family Church.
Israel announced their regrets after President Donald J. Trump called the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The Trump White House confirmed the Israeli strike hit the church. President Trump was not happy about it.
Pope Leo XIV called for an immediate ceasefire after the deadly strike on Gaza’s only remaining Catholic Church.
“I am deeply saddened to learn of the loss of life and injury caused by the military attack on the Holy Family Catholic Church in Gaza. I assure the parish community of my spiritual closeness. I commend the souls of the deceased to the loving mercy of Almighty God and pray for their families and the injured. I renew my call for an immediate ceasefire. Only dialogue and reconciliation can ensure enduring peace,” tweeted the Pope.
